Step Into Prep

It was wonderful to welcome two new friends to our Step Into Prep program this week. We love seeing new faces join us as children and their families become familiar with Depot Hill State School in the lead up to Prep.

This week's theme was "My School." Children explored what belongs in a school bag by sorting everyday items before packing their own Depot Hill backpack. They also enjoyed the entertaining story Piranhas Don't Eat Bananas and created a fun moving piranha craft to take home.

The morning also included singing, learning games, a healthy fruit platter for morning tea and outdoor play where children had the opportunity to build confidence, develop gross motor skills and make new friends.

Step Into Prep is held every Tuesday from 9:00am in the Depot Hill State School Library with Mrs Olive. If you have a child turning 4 years old by 30 June 2027, we'd love to welcome you. Families are welcome to join at any stage throughout the program.​
