National Sorry Day
Next Tuesday marks National Sorry Day. It is a significant annual day of remembrance and healing across Australia, honouring the resilience of the Stolen Generations—Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who were forcibly removed from their families. The day allows all Australians to reflect on the impact of past government policies and acknowledges the healing that comes from truth-telling. National Sorry Day leads directly into National Reconciliation Week, which runs from Wednesday 27 May to Wednesday 3 June.
Parents are welcome to attend a special parade next Monday at 2.30pm in the library to commemorate this day and students will be taking part in a variety of learning activities throughout National Reconciliation Week.
