Excursions
Last week the Year 5-6 class enjoyed an educational excursion to the Rockhampton Botanic Gardens. We employed the services of Phil Hoar as our guide and found out many and interesting facts – Did you know that the seeds of the cycad are poisonous but the indigenous people had found a way of extracting the poison before crushing and eating – many white settlers died before discovering this fact.
Due to the rain we have postponed the Prep to Year 4's excursion to next Wednesday the 21st of August.
The students in Prep-44 will be going for a walk along the sides of the Yeppen Lagoon as well as a trip to the Botanic Gardens. These excursions are fantastic opportunities to learn about our local area in a hands on and engaging way. Thanks so much to the teachers for organising.
