Changes to Staffing
We have quite a few changes to our teaching staff next year. Ms Bidenko will be taking leave for 2025, Miss Tennent will be transferring to Crescent Lagoon State School and Miss Downing will be taking on the new role of Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) based at Depot Hill State School.
I am pleased to be able to share the details of our teaching team for next year. A big welcome to the following teachers:
Andrea Chamberlain is taking on the role of Prep/1 teacher. Andrea comes to us from Crescent Lagoon State School and has extensive experience as a Prep teacher.
Our Year 2/3/4 teacher will be Erin Lawton. It will be Erin's first year of teaching but Erin has worked for many years at regional office in the HR team so she is not new to the workings of the Education Department. I know she will find our staff warm and supportive and we'll all be working to ensure that her first year of teaching is rewarding and fulfilling.
The Year 5/6 class will be taught by myself and the new regionally appointed Principal, Amanda Huthnance. Amanda has been the acting Principal at Marlborough this year and is excited to join our team at Depot Hill
I am also pleased to introduce the role of Community Education Counsellor (CEC) to our school. Eric Patterson will be working in this position in a full time capacity in 2025 and some of his role will involve providing educational counselling and support services within the school to ensure that the best possible assistance services are available to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children, students, families and communities and provide cross cultural awareness training to the broader school community.
