National Simultaneous Storytime
This Wednesday, 21 May 2025 at 12:00 PM AEST, our school will join over a million children across Australia and beyond to take part in
the 25th annual National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS). This year’s chosen book is The Truck Cat, written by Deborah Frenkel and illustrated by Danny Snell.
The Truck Cat is a heartwarming story about Tinka, a cat who travels with Yacoub, a migrant truck driver making a new life in a new country. When they are separated, their journey brings them back together with the help of a new friend, Mari. The story explores themes of belonging, identity, and kindness, beautifully illustrated in a soft, graphic-novel style.
National Simultaneous Storytime is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading together as a school community. We’re excited to share this meaningful story with our students and be part of this nationwide event!
